Commercial Signage: The Rural Community of Beausoleil Prioritizes Support for and Collaboration with Its Entrepreneurss
BEAUSOLEIL (N.-B.), September 14, 2026 – Following recent discussions regarding the municipal bylaw on commercial signage, the Rural Community of Beausoleil is clarifying its approach to business owners and merchants in its jurisdiction.
In accordance with Council member Linda Savoie’s proposal, which was adopted at the September 8 council meeting, Beausoleil is relying on direct dialogue, awareness-raising, and financial support to help business owners achieve compliance by the 2027 deadline.
“Our language is a strength, and the municipal team is here to promote best practices in close collaboration with our business community. The goal is to move forward together, in a practical and constructive way,” emphasizes Jeannot Doiron, CAO of the Rural Community of Beausoleil.
To put this strategy into practice, the municipal administration has established three priorities for action:
- Financial Assistance Program: Develop a financial assistance program (drawing in particular on the partnership with the New Brunswick Francophone Municipalities Association) to help reduce the cost of signage for businesses.
- Awareness and Support: Engage directly with business owners to identify their needs and facilitate their transition to compliant bilingual signage.
- Showcasing businesses : Develop initiatives that promote buying local and encourage contributions from the business community.
The administration reiterates that city staff remain fully available to answer questions, listen to the concerns of business owners, and support them every step of the way through this process.
Businesses play a vital role in Beausoleil’s economic vitality and dynamism. Over the next few weeks, the administrative team will assess budgetary needs and present to the council the support measures developed for the business community.
